Containment barriers are constructed to isolate the spread of mold spores to ceiling and fireplace water damage

Containment barriers are constructed to isolate the spread of mold spores to ceiling and fireplace water damage

Water intrusion from three sources, roof, chimney, stucco wall transition failure causing interior ceiling and fireplace water damage, dry rot, fungal growth. The key to mold control is moisture and water intrusion control. Adhering to the IICRC S520 protocals, containment barriers are constructed to isolate the spread of mold spores.

Water damage and mold contamination above fireplace require removal

Water damage and mold contamination above fireplace require removal

Water damage and mold contamination above fireplace require removal. Adhering to the IICRC S520 protocals, mold remediation procedures require physical removing microbial growth including sanding, wire brushing and HEPA vacuum all surfaces prior to application of antimicrobial and anti-fungal botanical disinfectant.

Inspection to evaluate a roof / chimney, stucco wall water intrusion

Inspection to evaluate a roof, chimney, stucco wall transition water intrusion.

Conducting a limited inspection to evaluate a roof, chimney, stucco wall transition water intrusion. A preliminary evaluation indicated flashing failure.

Defective stucco wall and chimney transition flashing

Defective stucco wall and chimney transition flashing.

Waterproofing recommendations included saw cut 1” groove into chimney brick located at stucco wall and chimney transition. Installation of cap counter flashing waterproofing detail set in urethane with cap flange set into saw cut groove to prevent water intrusion.

Chimney and roof transition flashing failure

A preliminary evaluation indicated chimney and roof transition flashing failure resulting interior water damage. Waterproofing recommendations included remove and replace existing flashings.

Removal of existing stucco wall, roof, chimney flashing transition

GWaterproofing recommendations included removal of existing stucco wall, roof, chimney flashing transitions due to failure.

Installation of bonderized flashings to stucco wall, roof, and chimney transitions

Corrections include installation of bonderized flashings to stucco wall, roof, and chimney transitions. Sheet applied membrane creating a monolithic surface, protecting from wind driven rain intrusion.

Stucco application to stucco wall, chimney, and roof transition

Corrections include sloped cricket chimney flashing, stucco counter flashing and wire mesh for stucco application.

Tamko roofing underlayment membrane installation protecting from wind driven rain water intrusion
